Even More Savings....

I took the kids outside today since it was so beautiful and did my own fall pictures with them. Are they professional, far from it, but I think they look pretty good just the same. I will have to play around with them and Photoshop them some, but here are the raw pics we took.

Braydon:

So what do you think? Not professional, but they aren't too bad are they?

Jumping Back Into Savings....

Well I decided a few weeks ago that I would get back into couponing again. I did really good when I did it before so I am getting back into it. I went yesterday and did my 10-10 to 10-16 trip today. I'm so very late I know, but time has not really been on my side.
Yesterday I went to CVS & Rite Aid. I probably could have done better, but I'm pretty happy with what I did. I took pictures so that I could show you what I got.

First I went to Rite Aid:
 Transaction #1:
Playtex Sport 2/$8 (I had a coupon for Playtex Sport $1/1 and Playtex Gentle Glide $1/1, also got $2 Up Rewards for buying 2)
Frizz - Ease $4.99 (I had a coupon for $2/1 but that coupon got lost between home and Rite Aid, so I actually spent more than I wanted but needed it. I got $1 Up Reward)
Total: $17.07 before tax
Coupon Savings: $2.00
Wellness Savings: $4.08
OOP: $10.99 before tax
Up Rewards: $3.00

Transaction #2:
Dial Body Wash $2.99 each (I had a coupons for $1/2 Dial and got $1 Up Reward each)
Gain Dish Detergent $.89 (I had a coupon for $1/1...FREE)
Total: $12.47 before tax
Coupon Savings: $2.00
Wellness Savings: $5.60
Used $3.00 Up Rewards from transaction #1.
OOP: $1.87 before tax
Up Rewards received: $2.00

Second stop was CVS

Transaction #1:
Colgate Total Advance $2.99 (Had a coupon for $1/1 and a coupon for $.75/1 and received $2.99 ECB for each one.)
Dial Body Wash 2/$8 (Had 2 coupons for $1/1 and got $2 ECB)
Total: $13.98
Coupon Savings: $3.75
OOP: $10.23 before tax
ECB earned: $7.98

Transaction #2:
Dawn Dish Soap: $.97 (Had a coupon for $.25/1)
Cocoa Butter Lotion: $.99 (Filler Item)
Soft Soap Body Wash: B1G1 $4.39 (Had a coupon for $.75/1)
Mt. Dew 20 oz: $1.69 (Filler Item)
Total after sales: $3.99
Coupon Savings: $1.00
Used $2.00 ECB from Transaction #1
OOP: $.65 before tax

$5.98 remaining in ECB's.

I spent a total of $26.02 OOP including tax.
I still have $5.98 ECB
$2.00 Up Rewards

So all in all I did pretty good, I think. I am sure somebody could have done much better, but this is what I was able to figure up.

Now Comes the Calm....

So is this really the beautiful place in which I rest this weekend??? I WISH!
I figure since my life has been hectic, crazy and insane...the calm must be right around the corner. I mean it can't possibly continue to go on forever can it?

A quick update....I've been to the Dr's and am on new medication. I must say that I feel so much better these days. This is like a miracle for me. I can't remember the last time I felt so energized, so I'm happy with that.

Lexi has been on fall break for the past week, so that means lots of lazy days watching movies.
Braydon's fall break was the week before. I was so disappointed that I didn't get to have him for his fall break.
Yesterday I found out that we will be getting Megan for Christmas. I'm so excited! 2 whole weeks with her. She brings a lot of laughter into this house when she's here.
Scott has been training to get his pilots license. Not a commercial license, just a personal one. Monday will be his first solo flight and I will be there, holding my breath, and taking pictures. So be on the look out for those.

I am so happy to get to back to blogging. These past couple weeks have been hard being away.

30 Days of Truth - Day 07

Day 07 → Someone who has made your life worth living for.

Well I'm a mom so can you figure out the answer to this question? My kids...they make my life worth living.

My parents made my life worth living for. Their love, and faith in each and everyone of us kids was more than any one child could ever ask for.

Between my kids and my parents they are my whole reason for living. Without a single one of them, I wouldn't be the person I am today. They have all at one point or another saved my life.

My parents never gave up on me. It didn't matter what wrong I did, they never gave up hope that I would become a better person. Because of them I never gave up on myself.

Then there was the partying life style I had as a teen, never caring about another person, or how they felt, or the impact my actions may have had on them. Then I held my daughter for the first time and I realized everything I do will impact her life. She saved me.

My son...when I was 10 weeks pregnant w/ him the Dr told me I had cancer. He urged me to have an abortion saying that the hormones can make cancer spread. Not me, I was not going to take this childs life before it had a chance to live it. I chose to carry him. I had my son in November, a few weeks later I was taking care of the cancer. I knew he had saved me...if I wouldn't have gotten pregnant I would have never gone to the Dr's.

They make my life worth living, they make every breath worth taking.

My Apologies...

I'm so sorry I have been MIA for so long. I have so much going on in my life, and I always said I wanted my blog to be cheerful, not full of complaints and since that is all I have these days I decided to take a break. I really do miss you all, so much. I hope soon I can get back in the swing of things, but for now my blogging will be limited to the time that I have at work. My work internet is very picky and will only let me on to some blogs. One day I may be able to access that blog, the next not. I don't understand it, but since they don't pay me to blog I'm not going to complain. Just know that if I can get to your blog I will do my best.

On a brighter note we did find out yesterday that Lexi's ROTC class will be having a Christmas Ball. I'm so excited for her, and I can't wait to go dress shopping. This is gonna be fun! I said I couldn't wait for her to go to prom, but she's got 2 more years for that, so now I get to do this!
