Favorite Song

So my favorite song is always forever changing and right now it's If I Die Young by The Band Perry. I can't get enough of this song right now. I'm sure in time it will wear itself off, but right now it's my favorite. Well that and a song Hey Beautiful, it however is done by a guy that I work with. He's an awesome song writer and singer. I can't believe he hasn't made it big yet!

Memory Problems!

It's been a crazy busy week. Half of which I can barely remember because I've been in such a whirl wind. Monday I went to the Dr's to have my foot checked again. Tuesday I really can't remember for the life of me. Wednesday was an interesting day at work and I didn't get home until late.
Thursday Braydon went to his first basketball practice and got to meet his team and coaches. He's been anxiously waiting to start basketball. He is on a Jr Pro team and likes all of his team and coaches. They only had one hour of practice and then had a game today, poor kids. Today was their first game. They lost 3-9. They are trying really hard to find us another practice time because once a week really isn't enough. They played hard, and they played good though. I was proud of them.
I don't know though, every day seems to be slipping through my hands. I can hardly remember anything lately, or what I am supposed to do. When I walk into a room and I forget what I'm doing it drives me crazy. Today after the game Lexi and I went to do some grocery shopping and I kept forgetting all through the store what I needed to get. I kept going from the front to the back and back again. Why didn't I just write a list you ask? Well I did! I just forgot it at home!

Next week we have our final court hearing for custody. I think I'm so stressed over that and that's why I keep forgetting everything. I want to just believe it's all gonna turn out fine, but there is always that slim chance and I hate that it's there. I hate what my son is having to go through right now. So fingers crossed that this goes by fast and just the way it's supposed to. I have a great atty by my side and I know she will fight for what is right. You of course will be hearing about that as soon as it's over.

Candy Canes:Our Holiday Tradition

Guest post of the week by Moises Henderson.

As the mother of two girls, ages 4 and 5, candy canes are our favorite treat to enjoy during Christmas! We do not typically indulge on the peppermint/ candy canes. We save those to place on our Christmas tree. Instead, we love the sweet, multi-colored candy canes. They taste so great, and are perfect when you need a sweet fix. Since they are only around during the holidays, I am sure we eat a few to many candy canes, but that's o.k.,too.

While we were watching television last night, we saw an ad for candy canes. It is not to often I see advertisements for candy canes since they are such a popular Christmas tradition already. We were kicked back watching satellite tv from bestchoicetv.com, then all of a sudden, the commercial popped on the screen. My little girls were so excited and ready to go buy a few boxes from the store.

It just would not be Christmas without our multi-colored candy canes. I can not wait to get the tree put up and a few boxes of them for the three of us to enjoy. My parents and I loved candy canes, too, and I am so thankful the tradition has been carried on to my girls.

A Box of Love

I would like to first ask ALL of you to go visit Mimi! Why? Because she's awesome and she sent me a box of love.

A few days ago I was reading Mimi's blog post about a beautiful quilt her mother had made her. Let me tell ya, it's gorgeous! This post of course reminded me of the quilt my mother had started making me when I was 11 yrs old. My mom stitched every piece of it by hand. I was so anxious to get the quilt my mother was making me because I had always wanted one. I think they are beautiful! My mom after 13 years never got to finish that quilt. It was one thing or another that stopped her. She was sick for many years and had developed a disease called neuropathy. Some days her hands would curl up into balls and she'd be in so much pain, yet still she tried to make that quilt for me. After my mom had passed I put the blanket into the spare bedroom with every intention of finishing after I felt I had the strength. Then Hurricane Ivan went ripping through Pensacola destroying many things....one of them being the quilt my mom had started for me. I was devastated to say the least.
When I read Mimi's post it brought tears to my eyes. Ok it made me cry like a baby! What a beautiful gift to have!
Today I came home and sitting on my counter was a huge box, wrapped in Christmas wrap but really who waits until Christmas right? So I opened it up and what did I find.....

A quilt! Mimi sent me this beautiful hand stitched quilt, and a beautiful card inside. I promise to post more pictures but I was too busy getting cozy with this beauty. It's gorgeous!!!! It has pretty hearts that are stitched along the seam...I promise I'll get pictures!
So of course you know I cried, and you know I'm crying as I type this. I can't explain how happy/giddy/loved this gift has made me feel. My holiday cheer that was lost has been found. I feel so close to my mom right now, and every time I wrap up in it I will feel close to her. I am in complete awe of Mimi for doing such a kind act. She's a beautiful person, with a beautiful heart and I can't say thank-you enough!

I will have more pictures up soon, I promise! In the mean time please go say hi to Mimi and give her A LOT of bloggy love!
