Head on over to My Little Life and play along w/ us as we tell the stories of our love, and friendship!
Sunday: The story of how I met the love of my life!
I met my dearest love, online. He had sent me a IM on Yahoo but I ignored it, I don't talk to people that I don't know through IM, well men atleast. He sent another, I clicked close. A few days later he sent another, and again I clicked close. About a week later he said "Can I be your squishy!" because I love Nemo, I mean I LOVE Nemo! It struck me as funny. He had read my profile on Yahoo and seen my squishy comment. I "LOL'd" him and that was the beginning of this thing called love. We talked for months on Yahoo, then one day he asked me to call him. I politely turned him down. I wasn't going to meet someone on line. If I called him he'd have my number, and well you can do a lot w/ someone's phone number. He could get my address, and what if he was a serial killer....I was not going to call him.
A week later, and we were deep in conversation about Nemo, and he says "I got some stuff to do, will ya call me so we can finish this conversation." No way, again he can do anything with my number no way. He asked why I wouldn't call, and I told him he could be a serial killer, and use my number to find me and come kill me. He told me to block my number...well DUH, why didn't I think of that. So I called him. We talked for hours upon hours. So the phone conversations led up to, when are we gonna meet? Ugh...who said anything about meeting? I mean, if ya know what I look like, and you know what I drive, you could follow me home SERIAL KILLER! Another few weeks of talking (he really is a stalker) and we were talking about our favorite game.....skee ball! Sad, I know, but very true. That turned into a "I could totally kick your ass" conversation, and I am not one to turn down a challenge. Being a single mom, I didn't know how I was to meet this guy w/ out my kids, and well he's a stranger so how do you go meet someone safely w/ your kids? Well my fellow bloggers the answer is................Chuck-E-Cheese! Yes, really we met at Chuck-E-Cheese. It was the one place that he couldn't leave w/ one of my kids w/ out having the same stamp as them.
I walk in and he was already there. He didn't have to say anything I knew it was him as soon as I had seen him. I had seen pictures but, well you know how that online thing can be, that picture could have been 20 years old. I know it's so cliche, but I knew I'd love him the second I saw him. We had a great night, playing in the tunnels and in the ball pit. Then there was Skee Ball......He won! UGH! But we raced on the cars to and I won, women are just better drivers. Kids, oh yeah I have kids...found the kids ate some dinner and then played some more. We went up to the counter to get more tickets and the guy told us he wouldn't serve us anymore alcohol, we hadn't even had any. When we told him we hadn't had any and didn't want any he asked how long we had been dating, this was after all what I refer to as our "non date" since I didn't really know him. When the guy asked, we just looked at each other and Scott blurted out "2 years" which I follow up w/ "and he still hasn't made an honest woman of me." Humiliation, yes, sweet victory, I embarrassed him!
We've been together ever since. That was December 26, 2003!
Ok now that you have the long story, head on over and tell us yours!
