Clean Up 2

Still cleaning out the SD card and getting ready for our honeymoon. Here's some pictures to look back on!
Last year was our first year going out and cutting down a real tree to bring home for Christmas. We had such a wonderful day with the family. Worst part....Braydon wasn't able to be with us. But we got a beautiful tree and Lexi had her own tree for her room.
This tree was so much larger in our home than it looked out in the field, but it was gorgeous! We all took turns cutting it down, but it was Marvin who ultimately finished it.
Lexis little tree for her room. Convincing her that she didn't need a big one was hard to do. But this one ended up working perfectly.
Yes I'm still talking about Christmas in February...what can I say it was a great one!

Cleaning Up

I decided to clean up my SD card since we will be going on our honeymoon soon and I wanted to have it cleared to take tons of pictures in Gatlinburg. So I thought I'd share some pictures that I love and haven't posted.

For choir they did a haunted forest for the community to come and enjoy. Lexi was a Vampires victim. We had so much fun getting her ready.
There she is on the day of their performance as a zombie. They did such a great job and we had a ton of fun watching her.
Quite a change from the zombie huh? They were all dressed up and ready to go to her ROTC Ball. They looked beautiful and had fun.

More clean up pictures to come! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Iron Out Carpet Stains

Pinterest got me again!!
I was looking through Pinterest on household tips and I came across a tip to get carpet stains up. I even snapped some before and afters of my experience with this.
We bought a cheap iron for $6 at Walmart and some white cloths. You mix 1/2 and 1/2 ammonia and water. The ammonia ended up being too strong for me so I used Vinegar. Spray the stain liberally with the mixture, lay the white cloth over it and iron the stain with the iron set on steam. After a few sprays and irons this is what I got.
I have to say I was very pleased with the results and went about ironing stains out of my carpet all day. That real dark stain had been in my carpet for months.

So Much Happiness

These 2 have so much fun together and they are always happy! I love to see the smiles on their faces and hearing them laugh. Lexi is a much much happier child these days. Marvin is so good to her and she just loves him to pieces.
Braydon doesn't allow me to capture many pictures of him, but he to loves Marvin. They get along great and he's really looking forward to their fishing trips this spring.
These 2 what can I say, they are all around happier and get along great! Of course you can never get several pictures and all of them be serious! They have a lot of fun together most of the time.

10 More Days

credit
I can't believe we have only 10 days left. It has seemed like forever to get here and even with only 10 days it still seems far away. We are both so excited to make our commitment to each other. So in the next 10 days we have a lot to do.
We still have to buy covers for the table (last minute shoppers much?)
We have yet to make a decision on flowers and by we I mean me...I'm still so back and forth on them, but I have a few more days. Thank goodness the florist doesn't need a long time.
Hair cuts for everyone next week.
We did finally buy the decor for the fireplace in the reception hall. That fireplace is the whole reason I wanted it....it is a winter wedding after all. I love what we got!
We have had the centerpieces for the tables....except ours. We haven't decided what we want as a centerpiece for our table.
I have to finish making the canvas signs for part of the fireplace decor. Thank you Pinterest I loved the idea!
Family will start arriving on the 22nd. All my family is out of state. My sister is coming in on Wednesday and the others will be here Friday. I'm excited to see all of them.
Nails need to be done next week some time.
Hair appointment is made for the wedding day. I was thrilled when my hair dresser said she would come in to do my hair. She is getting married just a week after me and had planned taking all that time off. She's such a sweet girl.
I also have received an offer to do a giveaway! So as soon as I receive the product and am able to review it I will get that giveaway up! I can't wait!

Moving Out

This guest post from Werner Rogers

It’s funny how growing up, I thought that my parents were only trying to keep me from having fun. Little did I know that their protection of me was also saving me a fortune. But of course, I knew better than they did and I moved out. After finding a cheap place, I turned my attention to the necessities…beer. After getting my refrigerator stocked full, I had to line up my internet and phone. Let me go ahead and let you in on a little secret, there’s only so much that one can watch online before your eyes start to cross. With that said, I had to get cable services, and quick. Lunkily, a new coworker recommended that I take a look at http://www.Direc4u.com/. Now because of his advise, I’ve got the tv hooked up and I can actually use my flatscreen again. Now if someone could just suggest some cheap water, electricity and heat. If I drink enough beer, it’ll trick my body into thinking that I’m warm, right? Is it too late to move back in with my parents? It seems that my parents weren’t as much of a kill-joy as I originally thought.

Full of Randomness!

My brain has been a little bit of every where this week or ok maybe it's been a month, I won't admit to longer though.
  • I went and picked up my wedding dress Wednesday. (I really wish I could share pictures) and while my initial visit to David's Bridal looking for a dress couldn't have been easier, the following visits have been frustrating. I really think that the alterations needs to get it together! A bride does not need their little quirks to think about weeks before her wedding.
  • My Daddy has come up from FL to stay with us for a month! It's been so great having the extra time to spend with him.
  • Lexi is in choir and will be attending competitions! I'm so excited!
  • She is also taking part in the school musical.
  • Braydon made his school football team, I'm so proud of him and he's thrilled about it.
  • 15 days until I marry such an amazing man! I can't wait!
  • I have finally gotten back onto Twitter. I don't know why I didn't use it much before. Be sure to follow!
  • It's the weekend! We have a fishing show to go to and then more wedding shopping to do. I love going out with Marvin and shopping for our wedding stuff. Planning this with him has been so much fun!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Homemade Laundry Soap

I caved and decided to make my own laundry soap. My sister has been doing it for years and likes it and then I seen it on Pinterest and decided I had to try it for myself. I found the recipe on Sew Like My Mom, went to the store and got the ingredients.

The Borax cost me $4 at Kroger.

Arm & Hammer Washing Soda was about $4.
Credit
Fels-Naptha was $1.29

I then came home and grated the Fels-Naptha with a cheese grater and put it in the food processor to grate it up fine. Mixed together one cup each of the washing soda and borax and Fels-Naptha.

The end result after several loads of laundry? I LOVE IT! My clothes smell fresh and clean! From what I read one mixture should be about 30 loads. I figure on average I'll have to purchase one bar of Fels-Naptha a month and the washing soda and borax twice a year!! Do you know how much money this is going to save?? And it's safe for HE washers which is what I have. I only wish I would've done this sooner and saved the money before.
